Hello, my name is Kris Bissell. I grew up in Ottawa, Ontario, and now call the stunning Manitoulin Island home. My heritage is primarily Acadian Metis, enriched by a beautiful blend of North American and European roots. I cherish the diverse culture that shapes my identity. I'm a proud mother of two creative teens who keep life exciting and full of laughter. Our family loves sharing new outdoor adventures together, playing board games, and cozying up for a good movie night!

 

With a rich background in education that began in the remote Cree community of Kashechewan, I have dedicated my career to supporting diverse learners. After transitioning from high school teaching to working with children with Autism and behavioural needs, I earned my master's degree in Applied Behaviour Analysis. My experience includes clinical supervision, helping with the opening of a private school for learners with unique learning needs, consulting in First Nations communities, and providing parent coaching, all while integrating compassionate and mindful approaches to education.​
